You should go back and read some of the stories I wrote on the board about non-Arab friends who attended her concerts and their thoughts on seeing her live, I think you will be able to relate. : It is my pleasure to offer this site, and I am glad it is affording you the opportunity to see our Lady (or as we say in Arabic "Sittna) for the first time. I know you will be moved, and it will be a once in a lifetime experience. Nothing prepares you for how great she is live.. : As far as the tour, I know there is a lot being written on the Internet about the tour, the organizers, the promotions, what is offical and what isn't, which site is the official site, etc. All I am going to say is that most of not all are rumors, speculations, and self-imposed half truths. Most of these issues don't matter to anyone, but here are some facts: : -The concert is being promoted by Planet of Performers, which is based out of Canada. The web site that some of you have visited is the site for the promotion company, not the Fairuz tour site. The information you find there is primarily the Media Sponsorship kit (which is intended for potential sponsors). : -There is no "official tour site" per say. The only site with official information and exclusive concert updates is FairuzOnline.com : -The tour initially had additional cities and dates. Due to many circumstances, some of those were canceled and the tour is set in three cities (refer to "The Latest"). There will be no extensions, additions, or other stops on this tour. : I hope to see all of you on the tour. As we have always done, we might organize an official fan get together. Also, watch for travel exclusives on the site as you prepare to plan to attend the concerts. Currently I am negotiating some great travel deals on behalf of the fans. I am a huge fan of Fairouz. It's not an interesting story at all, but here goes. : : I am not Lebanese or Arabic. I was visiting a friend whose father was playing a Fairouz cassette. I was instantly mezmerized by her voice. This was 15 years ago. Ever since then, she has been my #1 lady, my absolute favorite singer. I do not understand the lyrics, but I am moved to tears when I hear her Golden, flawless voice. My being able to see her in Los Angeles next month is almost unbelieveable to me, a dream come true! I had thought that I lost the last chance to see her when I could not go to Las Vegas in 1999. Seeing Fairouz LIVE will undoubtedly be one of my most memorable experiences of my life. : : I have you, Bashar, to thank for this because you are responsible for this wonderful Fairouz site.
